September 14, 5:00 – 7:00pm Linda LeMar’s wall sculptures are mindscapes or visual poetry. Her bas-relief clay wall pieces are deeply rooted in how she views the world around her. LeMar works in layers, building layers of textured paper clay, firing it, painting the surfaces and crevices with stains made from oxides, or washes of underglaze and firing it again multiple times to achieve richness of color and depth. There is a dialogue that takes place during this process that enriches her work and invites the viewer to stand and listen to her visual poetry. The exhibit runs September 14 through October 7. Linda LeMar lives and works in West Lafayette, IN.
