History for the Asking Project

The History for the Asking Project was started  in 2014 by the Depot Museum and Art Gallery group to help preserve the rich
experiences and memories of the residents of Beverly Shores.  After training at Indiana State University by the Indiana
Historical Society, Depot Board Member, Ed Kleese set up a project called “Beverly Shores History for the Asking” and set out to start collecting oral history recordings of past and current Beverly Shores residents.

The typical interview question includes:

 Your name and dates you have lived in Beverly Shores?
 What brought you to Beverly Shores?
 Your history and experiences n Beverly Shores?
 What do you think makes Beverly Shores a special place to Live?
 What’s one special thing you want people to know about Beverly
Shores?
 Looking to the future, what do you believe the people of Beverly
Shores need to do to make it a better place to live?
 Any other thoughts on Beverly Shores you would like to share?

With the help of residents: TC Hosna, Jackie Conrad, Mary Marvel, Ed Kleese and Tori Binelli , 33 of the suggested 100 contacts have been interviewed. More interviews are planed for the future. If you would like to participate in this project or know of anyone who we should interview, please contact Ed Kleese at akleese@comcast.net.

You can listen to a collection of oral histories by visiting our Museum. The Depot is open May through October, Friday through Sunday, 11:00 am to 3:00 pm
